My 6th Grade Survey

I’m back in Cherry Hill, NJ for Thanksgiving.  I found my yearbook from 6th grade (1995), when I graduated from Johnson Elementary School.  At the end of the book they have the results of some random surveys.  I’m not a sucker for nostalgia, but these answers are pretty great.  Here are the top 3 answers from both boys and girls:

I can be really stupid sometimes.  As a right-brained, disorganized, attention-span deficient person, I’m prone to some painfully embarrassing brain farts.

Socially and Professionally, I deal with this by being honest, self-deprecating, and irreverent.  After all, we’re all human and we all make mistakes.

What I can’t stand are the idiots who take themselves too seriously, people who are also mistake-prone, but can’t own up to it or are in denial of their own ineptitude.  These people are the REAL idiots, because they’re either insecure or lack self-awareness, and are always placing blame on other people.

These people can suck it.
